Quick answers to the questions people ask most.

How do I start?

Open your home page and answer the first exercise of today's workout. It takes about ten minutes and mixes words, listening, phrases, accent and verbs. Come back tomorrow and do it again: a little every day is what works.

How long should I practise each day?

Twenty to thirty minutes a day gets you to fluency fastest. Even five minutes keeps your streak going. Each part shows today's minutes and your days in a row.

Which button should I press: Wrong, Hard, Good or Easy?

Wrong: you did not know it. Hard: you got there with a real struggle or half right. Good: you knew it after a moment's thought (the usual choice). Easy: you knew it instantly. The app uses your answer to bring the card back just before you would forget it. After a Wrong, the next go allows only Hard, then Good, and Easy again the next day.

Spain or Latin America?

Choose the Spanish you want on the welcome page, your home page or your account. Spain Spanish uses vosotros, coche and the Castilian th. Latin American Spanish uses ustedes, carro and a Mexican accent. You can switch any time and your progress stays.

Do I need an account?

You can try everything for ten minutes without one. A free account keeps your progress and syncs it between your phone and laptop.

Can I use it on my phone like an app?

Yes. On iPhone, open the site in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome and choose Install app (or Add to Home screen) from the menu.

The microphone does not work.

Allow the microphone when the browser asks. If you said no by mistake, tap the icon beside the web address (on iPhone: Settings, Safari, Microphone) and allow it for this site, then reload.

I cannot hear anything on my iPhone.

Check the silent switch on the side of the phone and the volume. Sound only starts after you tap something on the page.

How does the pronunciation score work?

When you record yourself in the Accent route, Microsoft Azure compares your recording with how a native speaker says it and gives each word a score out of 100: green is close to a native speaker, yellow is nearly there, pink needs work.

Are my recordings kept?

Your recordings stay on your own device. To give you a score, a recording is sent to Microsoft Azure, which scores it and does not keep it.

I forgot my password.

On the account page, choose Sign in, then Forgot password? and we email you a code to choose a new one.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in, open your account and choose Delete my account and data. Everything synced is removed for good.
