500 Spanish idioms, the colourful sayings that make you sound like a local: estar en las nubes, tomar el pelo, costar un ojo de la cara. The most common come first. Each card gives the meaning: say the Spanish idiom, then check it, with the word-for-word translation to help it stick. For the other way round, switch to Spanish → English at the top of the card. Idioms you find easy come back less often.
These idioms come from Spain. Many are used in Mexico too, but some are Spain only: check with a Mexican friend before you use one.
